Great beginners and practice run for Adventure Riders you can do in half a day from Sydney. Lots of varied road surfaces including both loose and packed gravel, dirt and even a few touches of sand. Bonus is coffee at start and finish points, with the option of a swim at the midpoint.
Direction shown is mostly downhill. To practice your uphill technique, do it in reverse.
From the Bilpin end you can head further west to the Zig Zag and Lithgow area, and from the Wiseman's Ferry end you can head north into the Yengo National Park.
Great little cafe - good meeting place to caffinate. Another option would be the Pie in the Sky cafe a few kms back towards Sydney, or the Blipin Fruit Bowl.
